My work is lies at the intersection of design, craft and contemporary art and diverges between making socially engaged and sensory immersive artworks. Recent projects range from social participatory activities that explore the intimate act of touch and its significance in the digital age to honoring local farmers who live in food deserts.

I use a variety of media, but always include clay, as the primary material into installations, objects, performance and artist’s books. Images of my artwork are found in books, magazines and here at I am a member of and, three juried websites of contemporary ceramic artists.">

I am also deeply involved as an educator and leader in the field of ceramics. Currently, I am the president of the National Council on Education of the Ceramic Arts and a Professor of art and the Area Head of the ceramics program at Florida State University.
